Vietbay Inc, a 501(c)(3) non profit organization, is Stories of Vietnam's fiscal sponsor. VietBay started in the early 2000s with a small group of Vietnamese who came to study in USA and settled in the Bay Area. VietBay has been organizing volunteer-based events to preserve Vietnamese culture and foster the bonding between the community of multi-generation American-Vietnamese families living in the Northern California area.
The Stories of Vietnam team is grateful to Room to Read for granting us the rights to publish multiple children books. Room to Read is creating a world free from illiteracy and gender inequality. They are achieving this goal by helping children in historically low-income communities develop literacy skills and a habit of reading, and by supporting girls as they build skills to succeed in school and negotiate key life decisions.
The agreement establishes a partnership between The Asia Foundation (“TAF”) and Stories of Vietnam (“SoV”) for the printing and distribution of books from the Let’s Read! library with the common goal of increasing access to children's storybooks and improve learning outcomes. The Let’s Read! initiative makes high-quality books available to children anytime, anywhere in languages they use at home and school. Let’s Read enables more children to experience the joy of reading, particularly those impacted by poverty, civil conflict, or gender discrimination.
Sunbox, a social enterprise whose antecedent was a nonprofit organization planning and implementing projects for disadvantaged and underprivileged groups in the society. Sunbox has agreed to share publishing right with Stories of Vietnam so that we can translate and republish the book for overseas Vietnamese children.
